Editing...

I really love editing. From the time I shoot the actual picture, I have an idea in my head about exactly what it will look like after I've given it a little 'tweak' in Photoshop. Ps is great to learn, even if your just wanting to learn the basics; removing a colour cast from old photographs, getting rid of unwanted blemishes, etc- The other day though, I gave little Tate an arm :D I had a photograph I really loved for the expressions on the kids faces, but one of the boys had thrown his arm behind his back as he was running and looked like an amputee...Hmm what to do? I found a very similar picture (with his arm included) resized it to suit the armless one & using the clone stamp, copied his arm across. I make sure I zoom in close to fix little bits, like the grass round his hand, remember to change the opacity to suit. And voila! Tate has an arm :D

Matt & Haylee

As I waited for Matt & Haylee to arrive for their engagement shoot, I watched many couples walking past me until I saw this cute couple walking towards me, hand in hand, smiling & looking full of excited nervous energy. Of course, I knew it was them! Matt was nervous, Haylee...excited! Holidaying on the Gold Coast from Sydney, I suggested we meet at the ever gorgeous Currumbin Rock for their shoot. We really had a great afternoon together, laughing & mucking around. (Matt was actually surprised at how fun it was!) I aim to please! :D

This is my fave!...

Ben, Nicole & baby Chelsea

I first met gorgeous glowing Nicole down at Currumbin Rock for her Belly Shoot. She was excitely awaiting the birth of her sweet baby girl Chelsea & was treasuring every moment of it. I couldn't wait til I got the phone call a few weeks later saying she had arrived & I could shoot their first ever family photos! And she was such a great little model, working on her little smiles too, as you will see. Ben & Nicole you are truly blessed with such a little gem. Many wishes...xx

Joe, Johanna & Tully

There's nothing as cute as a little baby bump down the beach... a yellow dress, the sand & the sun= adorable! I love that! Be adventurous for your shoot! I'm up for it! I love it when clients really think about what's special to them, what they love doing, where they love going, and I'll always do my best to incorporate this into the shoot. And as you will see, Johanna loves the beach. Unfortunately Joe, Johanna's hubby had to work that day and couldn't join us for the Belly shoot. But you will see him a bit further down the blog when their sweet little boy Tully arrived, not long after the beach shoot. All the best to your new little family Joe & Joh  :D

Johanna's husband Joe is studying to be a doctor, so when I spotted the stethoscope hanging in the kitchen I knew I had to use it... (Oct 5th- oops!! I'm updating this little section because...I've upset Joe unintentionally. Sorry Joe! I just want everyone to know that, yes, Joe is a REAL doctor already!! but is studying to be a specialist; lungs, wasn't it Joe!?? Hee hee ;p I still thought you were awesome!!)

And now, introducing Mr Cuteness...Tully! Let's start with his tiny little chipolata toes :D

Doctor Joe and Tully

Much happier snuggled in my little pod

Good luck with all your medical studies & exams Joe! You're going to be a fabulous "specialist" real soon! Even if you do look like a furniture removalist! You crack me up! xx

Lilou

My funny five year old has just entered her first photography competition. Her school held the competition, Australia, and it was open to all grades, prep to grade 7. So armed with my (backup!) camera we set off down the beach one afternoon. She's always had an interest in photography, so I've been teaching her bits and pieces since she was about 2.

By the way, she came third and had heaps of fun!! Yay Lilou!

And here's a shot I took of her afterwards...
